• Weather/outdoor rating (IP rating): If used outdoors, look for IP44 or IP65 ratings. Example: IP65 for professional outdoor sets

• Connectability / lead cables: Will they allow linking multiple sets? Example: some allow up to 12 sets linked.

• Modes / control box:  offer multiple light modes (steady, flash, fade, etc). For example 8 modes listed.
